Today I am joined by the talented Connie – a paper-cutting artist from Derbyshire.

Hi Connie, so lovely to see you! Thanks for meeting me for a cuppa and a chat.

Okay, so let’s start with the big question…

1. What’s your cuppa of choice?

Black coffee in the morning, and then maybe an oaty earl grey or something herbal for the rest of the day

2. Biscuit dunking: Yay or Nay?

Hell yes

3. Tell us about what you do

I am a paper-cutter, I design and hand-cut paper using a little knife.

Love is the answer

4. How did you get started as an artist?

I have always loved crafting and when I started papercutting around 12 years ago, I just loved it and have been doing it ever since.

5. How has your work evolved since you first started?

Definitely, I love seeing how it changes year on year. I seem to get more intricate with lettering and designs and I love creating the larger A3 size ones. I get inspired by all sorts of things but a lot of them are based on quotes and nature.

6. How do you like to spend your days off?

I love a good walk in the peak district, a good cook and a bucketful of coffee.

7. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would love to visit Vietnam or Cambodia and also Hawaii seems like paradise.

8. Of all the artwork you’ve created, do you have a favourite piece?

I am loving my new moon hare series.

9.. If you could have any super power, what would it be?

Being the mum of an 11 year old, we talk about this A LOT, we think invisibility would be cool.

10.. Who are you five dream dinner party guests?

As above, being the mum of an 11 year old boy, any one who doesn’t talk about Marvel, Pokemon, YouTube channels and poo would be a welcome dinner guest!
